Every Betluku market resolves to a single, unambiguous outcome. This policy explains where we get the truth, how long it takes, and how you can dispute a bad call.
Guiding principles
- Public sources only. We resolve to results that are verifiable by any user, not private information.
- Primary sources beat secondary. IEBC beats a newspaper. NSE beats a WhatsApp screenshot.
- Question wording is literal. If a market asks about "the winning candidate declared by IEBC", a court reversal months later does not change resolution.
- No discretion after the fact. Resolution criteria are written before a market opens and cannot be edited once trading begins.
Resolution timelines
- Sports fixtures: within 2 hours of the final whistle.
- NSE and forex markets: within 30 minutes of official close on the reference day.
- Elections and referendums: within 24 hours of the IEBC final declaration.
- Weather markets: within 2 hours of KMD's daily bulletin for the reference station.
Sources of truth by category
- Politics & elections: IEBC official gazetted results.
- NSE / financial: Nairobi Securities Exchange daily official list.
- Forex: CBK indicative rate at 15:30 EAT.
- Sports (KPL, national teams): Kenya Premier League and FKF official records; FIFA for international results.
- Motorsport (WRC Safari): WRC official classification.
- Weather: Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) daily forecast bulletins.
- Central bank policy: CBK MPC official communiqué.
Edge cases
- Event cancelled or postponed beyond the market expiry: the market resolves N/A and all stakes are refunded.
- Result reversed after resolution: the original resolution stands. Markets are literal about the source and moment named in the question.
- Ambiguous source: if the named source becomes unavailable, we substitute the closest equivalent named in our public source list and disclose the substitution.
Dispute process
File a dispute at support@betluku.co.ke within 72 hours of resolution. Include the market ID and the specific source you believe was misread. A senior operator not involved in the original resolution reviews within 48 hours. Unresolved disputes may be escalated to the BCLB Complaints Officer under Bookmaker's Licence No. 0000279.
